July, already?!?

Wow... I'm feeling a little bit overwhelmed as I think that tomorrow is the first day of July already! School is out, holidays are beginning, and I am hoping to have more time to create as I'm spending more time at the store (after my holiday in California)!

Today I'm playing around making samples with our new SOTM for July-- a cute trio of summer images by Magenta! My cards are on the table in mid-process, but here's a 6" scrapbook page mom & I created together using the images as a border! I think this stamp is going to be alot of fun :) We have a variety of other new images in the store as well as all the colours of Colorbox chalk ink cat's eyes, which I love! Well, I better head back and start creating again... I'll upload the new sample board to the yahoo site when it's done!

New Goodies!

Here's a small sampling of the new goodies we got in the store today-- Grafix rub ons by Chatterbox and some cardstock stickers by Carolee's Creations. We're also now well stocked with western stuff for all those stampede photos you're gonna take next weekend!

The new photo decor kits by Making Memories
( http://www.makingmemories.com ) look great, too-- make some photo cubes, a photo garland, photo tray or photo coasters for a lovely, creative gift for someone special!

The new ribbons by Basic Grey are back in stock and are simply delicious, and the new doodlebug products are so cheery-- perfect for kids layouts! There's lots of new stuff to help you have a creative day!

It's officially summer!

It's officially summer! Yippee! I just created this fun ATC (artist trading card) for a yahoo group I'm in and thought I'd share with you-- it's simple, but I'm happy with the final product! I used some 'hinges' by Judikins to attach the summer block and stamped a secret message behind it (oooooh) so that I could use some of the fun striped ribbon we have in the store! Perhaps I'll take it and design a coordinating scrapbook layout with a summer theme... have it all ready for when I have new summer photos to scrapbook when I get back from California in July. I inked my stamp (Hero Arts) with two shades of chalk ink and my letter is QuicKutz 'Frankie' alpha. Just thought I'd share!

These INKY fingers

Looking at my hands a moment ago, I realized again how good it feels to have inky fingers! They indicate that I have been creating something... and that feels great! Our new display rack, stocked full of all 12 of the new Distress Ink pads by Tim Holtz, arrived a couple days ago and I've been busy creating a colourful display header for it with samples of all the colours. It's so addicting crumpling up paper, inking it up, spritzing and ironing to see these beautiful blends! Then I decided to try using the inks on some white grosgrain ribbon and oooooh! Such fun! I knew it would work on twill tape, but this ribbon is the perfect size for my little tags and you've got to admit, it looks fabulous! I'm already planning projects to use these great new inks on. I'll use them on ribbons, paper, prima flowers... I think I'll try some jumbo ric-rac next! But first, I've got to do up a matching display header for the 12 original colours of Distress Ink. Then I may have to get mom to take a photo of these inky fingers!

becoming a blogger...

Well, here it is, my first blog entry! I'm not entirely sure what this blog will contain exactly, but I'm hoping to make it an inspiring place where I can post things that make you want to create!

I finished (mostly) my prototype for a fun summer class-- a flip flop mini book! It's just adorable, and I want to make a whole bunch of them! I'm thinking it will be a fun little book for some of the not so great photos we take at Disneyland this summer!

Have you seen our new 'Scrap & Card Kit' I put together? It was a fun challenge for me, and I loved the inspirations I got from Rhonna Farrer's Splendor line of papers-- they really are beautiful, and now I'm seeing them everywhere I look, I've found lots on Two Peas in a Bucket! We've got some fabulous card & page samples up in the store, as well-- these really do go with alot of stuff!
