I took a bit of time last week to photograph a few cards (one which I made with my new ipodabella stamp... which actually isn't new, but this was the first time I inked it up!) that I thought I'd share since I haven't posted any for a while!

This one is one of the cards from my 'Happy birthday, cupcake' class a bit ago and I must confess, I just adore it!

Ipodabella is feeling groovy listening to some new tunes she downloaded... I just had to use this great background paper by Piggy Tales with her!

Another yummy cupcake card, which photographed a little funny because of the gate-fold design... but I think you can see how cute it is regardless!

Have a creative weekend!

May Stamp of the Month

Our May SOTM is a decorative frame wood mounted stamp by Hampton Art Stamps. Isn't it pretty? Did you notice the fabulous new 12" QuicKutz border we die cut for our background?

We had fun teaming it with a variety of images- first we stamped it with Brilliance pearlescent chocolate ink (love it!) on vellum, then stamped the coordinating message stamp and blossom (by Inkadinkado) in the same ink on patterned paper. Simple & Elegant.

Doesn't javabella fit nicely into the frame? I wanted to do something a bit more whimsical for this card, and Bella is always a good choice :) I colored in the frame & bella with watercolor pencils.

Mom stamped this one with Brilliance ink onto a transparency, then overlayed it on a photo (do you recognize this spot?). She added a fabulous new prima flower and "Mom" out of the new QK font "Chopsticks" which I love... you'll also notice it is the font we used to spell "May 2008" on the sample board!

This last card is actually the first I did- this frame fits perfectly on an ATC card! I masked off the frame and inked up the edges with several shades of blue chalk ink. This quote by Inkadinkado fit perfectly inside the frame and the QK bird added the finishing touch. This card was quick & easy using this gorgeous patterned paper by Doodlebug!

The beautiful brush stroke look of the letters will lend a Far East look to layouts, cards and more.

QK Spring Gift Sets- Exotic Island

Each week this month we'll have a make & take at the store featuring one of the QK gift sets- this weeks is a quick card featuring Exotic Island- this has been the HOT gift set in our store so far. Here's what QK has to say about it:

Give your projects a tropical taste with Exotic Island Grand Unicase Alphabet Set on Cookie Cutter Dies, which is really like two alphabets in one! The inside line and thicker outline both look great on their own or when cut in coordinating colors.
So put on a grass skirt and give a little hula dance as you die cut these fun letters for Luau invitations, beach vacation layouts and more. And see how creative you can be with the real coconut that this alphabet comes in!

Each "Around the World" Gift Set also includes a unique entry code for the Dream Vacation Sweepstakes. Enter the code online for a chance to win a trip for you and a friend to one of four exotic locations around the world!

This layout created by Samantha VanArnhem is featured on the QK website. I love that it showcases both the inner & outer alphabets included with this gift set! This is a 'grand' sized alphabet- my guess is that this is a 12x12 layout.

Hero Arts

Recently Hero Arts started up a blog which I've made a habit of checking out at least once a week, and I've been meaning to recommend it to you- it's been full of fabulous information and inspiration! This week the CEO of Hero Arts is the guest blogger and there's all sorts of information on the history of the company (which was one of the first companies I carried at Creative Accents when I started as a little home based business almost 9 years ago!). I think you'll enjoy learning about Hero Arts as a company and the standards they uphold!

As a little bonus here's a secret blog reader's special... if you stop by the store in the next couple of days (until Saturday!) mention it to us at the till (and tell us how you liked the Hero Arts blog!) and you can save 20% on any in stock regular priced Hero Arts stamp you purchase! If you're a mail order customer- you can email us your order and enjoy these savings as well!
