Hero Arts & QuicKutz... we have a winner!

Mom (Julie) joined in and took the challenge to combine Hero Arts & QuicKutz and came up with this pretty card- the black pieces are cut out of core-dinations papers and sanded (the corners were embossed with a goosebumpz die first!) which I think looks fabulous. Isn't it a pretty card?

We have a winner! I was a bit disappointed to only get two entries for our Hero Arts & QuicKutz challenge... but they're both lovely ladies with fabulous projects, so that much was good :) So I assigned each lady two numbers and used the random number generator to pick a winner... and Janet is our winner! Janet made this card and can pick up these two items next time she's in the store :) The stamp comes with a set of notecards & bling from Hero Arts- I can't wait to hear/see what you do with them!

Janet & Sarah, if you're reading this- next time you're in you can also ask for 5 bonus entries to the Quickutz Create in Color Sweepstakes!

We've still got some extra entry codes for the QK contest, which ends on June 30... if you'd like some bonus entry codes (2 per person) just post a comment with your email address in the body of the post (or if you don't want to post your email address- you can send us an email after you post to let us know where to send it! Our address is: creativeaccents@telus.net. Put "contest code" in the subject of your email please!). We'll give an extra entry for anyone who is or becomes a follower of our blog as well!

Oooh, one last thing- our deal of the week is Embellishments 20% off! Enjoy!

p.s. we won't be having a 3 card class this week due to the Stampede weekend- watch for exciting things to come next week, though!

Sweet Storage Solutions

Maybe you've seen ads for the "Best Craft Organizer" in a magazine lately... I know I've been noticing them for a while, but never looked too closely at them. Then they contacted us recently to let us know about their new storage solution for ribbon- and it looked pretty great and reasonably priced, so we placed an order! It's in stock NOW at the store- here's what you get:
Pretty great, eh?

So, as we're placing the order they mention to us that they also sell the "Best Craft Organizer" and they offer us a special deal on a demo unit to display in the store... well, this is one of those investments you don't want to make without seeing it in person so we decided to go for it! Here's the two units we got (both are in the walnut finish with black drawers):
Stop by and check them out in person- we're filling them with a sampling of products so you can visualize how they might work in your craft room at home! You can pick up a brochure/order form and bring it in to us and we will place the order with the company for you. The shelving units will then be delivered directly to your home! (The products ship from right here in BC, but the prices are in American funds.)

June QK Release!

Check out these fabulous sample projects from the QuicKutz design team- do they rock or what? You can find details on the dies used for these projects and lots more samples in the QK idea gallery!

I've already made a card with the school house die- it was perfect for one of the teachers at Maranatha who is moving away! I used it together with school themed papers by Imaginisce and it turned out super cute! Unfortunately, since I was so exhausted with the end of the school year and all I forgot to take a picture. Oops! You can enjoy this funky card made with it instead:

... and this card just made me smile, as the designer said, it's for someone who has had a "____ day!" (insert the word of your choice...) heehee! I might have to use this in a 3 card class one week, it'd be a good card to have on hand ;)

I'm loving this new release from QuicKutz- in stock now at the store! My favorite die at moment is this one:

Just dreaming about what I'll create with it gets me even more excited about my trip to New York next month! Imagine the pages I will create ;)

I'd LOVE to hear what your fave die is- please leave a comment and let me know!

Hero Arts & QuicKutz challenge {EXTENDED}

So I just stopped by the Hero Arts blog and they have announced the winner of the big giveaway- wow, some lucky lady named Anthonette gets a new Silhouette SD bundle to play with! There is still a big bundle up for the taking on the QuicKutz blog, though... that winner will be announced on Monday!

It is however, NOT too late to play in the challenge to create something with both stamping (Hero Arts) and die cutting (QuicKutz)! An entry via the Hero Arts blog today could win ya something special! If you're playing, please share a link with us HERE and post a comment on our blog. If you missed the deadline for the challenge on the Hero Arts blog, it's NOT TOO LATE to still win something! I'm extending the challenge on our blog by another week to encourage more people to play! Post a link to your creation HERE (maybe even join our small, but growing, group of followers!) and you could win a Hero Arts & QK prize from Creative Accents! The prize is currently sitting at an approx. $30 value.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you create...

p.s. it's easier than you think to combine QK & Hero Arts- looking back at our three card class samples, we do it all the time! Check it out- 2/3 of these cards feature both HA & QK, the 'dad' card features both (along with Stampendous), the just because sentiment is by HA in this set, and all the stamping on this set is Hero Arts!

they're here...

... a new shipment of stamps from Stamping Bella, including lots of fabulous KETTOs and a bunch of her other new ones. I'm counting the days until school is out (4!) so I can take some time to play! I'm looking for an excuse to use the new PUFF & MONSTAH BASH stamps, cuz they're just so stinkin' cute!

oh! One more thing- we're finally putting together that Stampendous order we've been talking about. Looking forward to the new storage solutions and their cling stamps! Let us know if you want to special order anything ;)

June SOTM by Impression Obsession

Friday is finally here, and so are the samples for our June SOTM! This month we're featuring a duo of cling mounted stamps (it's becoming a pattern, I know... but we just love the convenience & value of cling!) from Impression Obsession! I've had my eye on this cupcake martini for a while now and this month seems like the right time as we're preparing to celebrate TEN YEARS in Williams Lake this summer- Wow! So, let the birthday celebrations begin- CHEERS to you, our fabulous customers, and to anyone you know who'll be getting a birthday martini card this summer ;) All four cards feature "Delight" papers by Fancy Pants- including some of their 'cards' designs which gives you 12 individual designs on one sheet!
On this card I used a base of Bazzill embossed cardstock, inked up with Mahogany Distress Ink. I used the new "String Bean" QK alpha to write "cheers" on the card and coloured up my martini with Copic Markers & a touch of Spica glitter pen (don't those chocolate cupcakes look yummy? I've been craving cupcakes since I started playing with these stamps... so I bought some for tonight's midnight crop!) and covered the liquid with DG3 by Judikins (similar to Diamond Glaze, but goes on crystal clear and dries in a thinner layer).
This one features another one of the 'card' images from Fancy Pants- this card came together quickly as it's such a small surface (3x6") but I enjoyed adding some detail to the inside as you see here (not something I usually do on our SOTM board):
Mom embossed the main image in gold and coloured the 'drink' with some gold Twinkling H2O's for an extra touch of shimmer. The bling on the scallops and the glass bottom add some fun. (Good news- Luminarte, the makers of H2O's, had announced their company was closing a few months back, but decided to stay open after the response of their customers!)

... and this is the card you saw a few days ago!

Thursday, June 04, 2009

So I told mom this afternoon that I'd posted about String Bean on the blog and she informed me that we are SOLD OUT already- wow! You'll want to stop by the store on Tuesday and check out the info on week 2 of the Summer of Fun dies- I expect it'll sell out just as quickly!

We finished up samples for our SOTM today and I'll get photos posted here tomorrow. My grade 2/3 students had their year end performance tonight and I had to take off right after closing time today to help get them ready for it! Tomorrow night is a Midnight Crop so I'll be at the store late with lots of time to take those pictures & update the blog!

We'd love to have you join us- the crop is from 6pm-midnight and costs just $10. Bring munchies and a friend and something to work on- see you soon!

QK Summer of FUN- week 1!

QuicKutz "Summer of Fun" releases are back this year, with four weeks of limited edition releases! Week 1 is this fantastic 12" alpahabet border die, String Bean, which is so cute! I love that you can use both the positive (alphabet) and negative (border) of this die, but the best part is the price... a 4x8 alphabet sells for $45.99, a border die sells for $29.99 but THIS alphabet border die is just $25! We have a limited quantity in stock and when we sell out, they're gone so get yours while you can!

Next week we'll announce what QK has in store for week 2 of this summer of fun! This series of releases will finish up with a blast from the past. ZELDA will be brought back- bigger & better than ever! Zelda will be released in GRAND format on SEVEN 4x8 dies for just $115! You can pre-order Zelda today- just like the rest of the Summer of Fun dies, when we're sold out... they're gone!

a peek at June's SOTM..

June's Stamp of the Month just arrived in the store today, so we haven't had much opportunity to make samples yet, but I did colour up a few images and create one card (Mom created one, too but my picture didn't turn out- you'll see it and several others later on this week)... so here it is!

This month's SOTM is another combo deal- two cling mounted stamps by Impression Obsession. The papers are the 'Delight' collection by Fancy Pants- and what could possibly be more delightful than a cupcake martini ;) Let me know what you think of my card and the stamps... you'll hear more from me soon, hopefully with more card samples!

p.s. my card layout was inspired by one I saw somewhere along the way on Stamping Bella's Ketto blog hop... sadly, I was so busy hopping I forgot to take note of whose card it was! The 'hop' is officially over, but you can still find the link on the bella blog if you're interested!
