QK Holiday release!

The new holiday release from QuicKutz is here! It has a variety of images with a retro/whimsical feel, with a few elegant images thrown in for good measure. I'm especially loving the new alphabet, called "Holiday"- it's a set of TWO 4x8 dies, including both upper and lower case letters! It's called a 'mini complete' alphabet, but I have some 'classic' sized alphas the same size! (oooh, hey, is it just me, or do ya think it's the 'creating' font from Creating Keepsakes magazine!?) I can't wait to create something with it... maybe at our midnight crop on Saturday night??? Dies are in stock and available in the store (well, most of them... a few sold out FAST, and several more are nearly gone). Here's a sampling of the great projects the QK design team has posted on the QK website:

New Christmas goodies are arriving in the store regularly now... in addition to QK, we've got stamps from Hampton Arts & Hero Arts Stamps plus an assortment of patterned papers (and lots more coming)! Among the next to be ordered will be Stampendous & Hannah Stamps, so let us know if there is something you'd like to order!

Introducing our newest Design Team Member...

Leslea is the newest member of our 'Seriously Creative Design Team' and we're thrilled to be featuring her art in our store! Leslea has been creating for about 8 years now and we just fell in love with her funky fun style :) She has a young daughter who is the inspiration for and focus of most of her projects, you'll notice she's adorable, so it's not hard to see why :)

Leslea created these layouts featuring Prima papers this month, all are available in the store and you can see her layouts up close and personal, too! Enjoy the eye-candy and please join me in welcoming Leslea to the team!

(Leslea loves using her Cricut tool and has made note of the cartridges she uses on the back of her layouts- we'd be happy to special order any cartridges for you if you want them.)

lulu lovin'

I have to confess... I'm in love with the new 'lulu' collection by Stamping Bella! These two pretties are the first to join my stamp hoard and I had so much fun colouring & creating with them! Of course, Harriet, HAD to be paired with these fabulous papers by Doodlebug, which I have been wanting to play with for a long time. I coloured her with my copics to match, used my brand new border punch by EK & finished it off with lots of glitter (including Copic Spica on her hair & stickles on the cupcakes), ribbon and a sentiment by A-Muse.

Now Henrietta also had me crying out to use a certain line of paper we have in the store... I just LOVE these ones by Cosmo Cricket and once again coloured her up to match them. I sorta-kinda used an old Mojo Monda sketch, blinged her up (crimson Copic Spica on the cherries? YUM!), added silk ribbon & finally got a chance to use this 3D cherry from QuicKutz, too!
... and for some more lovin', here's a card I made for my cousin's wedding earlier this month. I'd been itchin' to use the pair of pears by QuicKutz on a wedding card & I LOVE how it looks cut out of these 'Porcelain' papers by Basic Grey (which, by the way is on sale 20% off this week... in fact, ALL Basic Grey & ALL embellishments are our deal of the week right now!). I pulled out my wooden alphabet stamps for this one, too- which I haven't used forever and they worked out just perfect ;) The QK font is the gorgeous 'Harvest' font, cut out of white fuzzy vinyl by QuicKutz- I love the loopies on it. Are ya feeling the love yet?

September Stamp of the Month

Here it is- our September Stamp of the Month! This month it's another two stamp combo, a stack of books & sentiment "relax... it's your day" from A-Muse Art Stamps! It's been ages since we featured a wood-mounted stamp, and for some reason I really wanted books for our SOTM this September- so these stamps seemed like a perfect fit. And then we started playing... and look at all the fun we had! I hope you'll enjoy them just as much as we have so far!

For this first card, I used a sketch from Mojo Monday (one from their '100' week) and papers by Doodlebug. I love the colour combo (and I'm really not a 'purple' person) and how well this sentiment, from last month's SOTM, works with the stack of books!

Same papers, another Mojo sketch (maybe one day I'll use one during the actual week of the challenge)!
Tanya made this adorable bookmark by pairing the books with clear Changito stamps by Stampendous- look how perfect the books fit on top of the books he's carrying! LOVE it and I love the apple she placed on top of the stack :)
This background paper is by A-Muse as well, it's a nice cardstock weight wood-grain that makes a fabulous card base. I masked the stack of books and stamped this text background by Hero Arts over it, then coloured it up with some shades of Distress Ink before removing the mask and colouring with my Copic markers (yes- ALL the sample cards are coloured with Copics this month)!
I was strongly encouraged to use the stack of books together with Rocco Raccoon (by Stampendous) which is a new favorite image of mine (and we're all sold out... I'll be ordering more soon, let us know if you want him)! Rocco can lift up all sorts of fun things, but books & caffeine seemed a great start! The sentiment is by Inkadinkado. I shaped the curve on the image with one of the QK bracket dies and the sentiment is stamped on a tree top- I love using QK dies for new things!
Hope you enjoyed the samples for our September SOTM... and I hope you have a fabulous month! I can't wait to see what you come up with using the stamps. If you're not already a part of our SOTM and want more info on it, ask us for details next time you're in the store!

QuicKutz Thanksgiving Shapes

The new Thanksgiving shape release from QuicKutz came out today and there are some beautiful autumn & holiday designs! Here's a sammpling of some of the fantastic projects up to inspire you on the QK blog:
I love the idea for this water bottle pocket- what a fun little giftie! You can find more info about it here.
I love this card using this fabulous indian corn die- so much fun! Isn't the new Harvest 4x8 alphabet fabulous?

Isn't this shadow box fabulous? I'm gonna be scrounging the dollar store for a frame I can use to make one! The text is from the cookie cutter 'give thanks' die.

Another fabulous card- this one featuring one of the new nesting maple leaf dies!
This project cracks me up- such a fun concept and creative way to use the new scroll tree border die!
