Autumn Cards

It's the end of October, but I'm not quite ready to let go of my favourite season, Autumn! I'm grateful the snow downtown & at my house has melted so I can live in denial just a little bit longer... but thought I should share these cards before that is no longer possible!

Tanya created this cute card a while back, and I thought today was a good day to share it (hope I haven't already!). It features Rocco the Raccoon, from Stampendous- which we have back in stock, along with a bunch of other cling mounted stamps from Stampendous! I just LOVE this little raccoon, and have all sorts of ideas for things he can be lifting up :)
I made this next card for Mom & Dad's anniversary this year. I cut the card shape & oak leaf out on my Silhouette- isn't that leaf border fabulous? The maple leaf is a QK 4x4 die, which I cut out of paper I inked up with a mix of distress ink colors on my splat mat. I just rubbed them on the mat (I used a brown, orange & green, I think), spritzed it with water and rubbed my paper in it. I then dried it with my heat gun and cut out the leaf. It's a fun technique, perfect for autumn leaves! The sentiment is an old PSX image that fit perfectly on the leaf :)
Thanks for reading- hope you're enjoying what's left of Autumn!

Trick or Treat!?

Treats, of course! We've got 'em for all of our customers today- just select a lil' surprise treat bag when you stop by and make any purchase today. No costumes required- have a fun Halloween!

Well, we started October with a 'pink' deal of the week in honor of breast cancer awareness month, and we're ending it with another... until the end of October you can save 15% on your entire regular priced purchase if you're wearing pink or sporting something with a pink ribbon on it! (I don't know about you, but I have a hard time resisting all the pink ribbon products... this year I got a new pink blow-drier and pink toilet paper!)

PLUS... when we thought about the 'pink-est' corner of our store, of course Stamping Bella came to mind, so... you can save 20% on Stamping Bella products (in pink pacakges) too!

Keep on thinking pink & let's end this month with HOPE!

p.s. there's still room for more in our 'Get Sketchy' scrapbooking class tomorrow (Wed.) night! It's a great class for beginners or anyone new to sketches!

October Stamp Of The Month {finally}

Yes... the sample board is finally finished! Thanks for your patience with us this month, it really threw us for a loop when we had to scramble to pick a new SOTM at the last minute, but I'm really pleased with this new selection, the "Fauna" clear set by Basic Grey. These stamps arrived while we were in Utah, so Tanya took a bit of time to play with them. She made two cards with the coordinating "Indian Summer" papers by Basic Grey.

I think between the two of us, we managed to use every stamp in the stamp set... pretty good, eh? Here's Tanya's creations:

Aren't they pretty? Here's what I created... the new QK Paper doll release also arrived while we were away and I just HAD to play with the new 'fashion doll'- isn't she fun!? I created a background paper with the berry branch stamps from the set using the 'direct to stamp' technique with my Copic Markers. It was my first time using the technique and it was alot of fun! I finished off by die cutting the dress and adding Aged Mahogany distress ink.

Everything on my little lady was cut out of a neutral coloured paper and coloured with my Copic & Spica markers... except her purse, it was cut from one of the 'Indian Summer' papers and covered with Crackle Accents- FUN! Even her necklace was coloured with my Copics :) The background paper is from a Making Memories 'Ledger Paper Pad' which is 8" square, I love it for card making!
The last item I created was a little gift card holder- the folder was cut from Core'dinations cardstock on my Silhouette, then I just sanded it a bit and added a little piece of paper with the 'to & from' and the pretty little bird stamp. A quick little project that will come in handy! It would be fun just mounted on the front of a card, as well.
Hope you like the samples and the stamp set- we'd love to see what YOU create with it, so I'm setting up a folder on our Facebook page for you to add your samples! (If you haven't joined us there yet, just click the ink on the side of this page!)
