Mother & Daugher layout

Just another quick post to share with you this layout my mom, Julie, created recently! She used new "Mitten Weather" paper by Cosmo Cricket as her background and used these fabulous new 6x6 die cuts from Moxie behind her photos- these come in just over 10 colours (can't remember the exact number!) and are double sided- this layout features both sides of them.

Mom also added some QK scalloped borders & Tim Holtz flowers (both cut from more Mitten Weather paper) and finished it off with some Zva Creative flourishes and the gorgeous new ribbon rose trim we got in recently.

New Arrival!

Just a quick post to share a card I made for a baby shower I'm attending tonight (soon... which is why this is a quick post! LOL). I've been wanting to use the new branch, nest & bird dies from QuicKutz on a baby card since they arrived and I love how they work together.

I used fabulous new papers by Crate Paper- LOVE the colours and textures in the Restoration collection! My sentiment is a super old Hero Arts stamp and the postmark in the corner is another super old one from Stampendous. Flowers & Pearls by Prima, Nestabilities by Spellbinders.
I used the current sketch by Sketch For You To Try, just turned it sideways... I wasn't totally crazy with this card, but it'll do! I think I'll try a remake and see if I can add a bit more texture to it :)
That's it for now! Gotta go gather my giftie and head out the door in a few minutes :)

ABC Challenge & Blog HOP!

It's time for another Challenge at Creative Accents and we're kicking it off with a BLOG HOP! We've got a talented group of ladies who will be sharing with you their creations for the ABC Challenge.

The challenge is fairly simple! Create any paper based project and include:
A- Alphabet (letters or words in any form)
B- Bling (pearls or gems and other blingy things)
C- Chipboard (letters, shapes, or whatever you've got in your stash)

Your project can be any theme, but if you want 'extra credit' make it an Autumn or Halloween project :)

This challenge is open to participants until October 15 at midnight. You can enter using the inlinkz gadget at the bottom of this post (if it's not there yet, it will be soon!) and/or by bringing your project in to display in the store! The prize (randomly chosen from all challenge participants) will be a surprise package of goodies from all of our ABC categories worth at least $30!

We'll also be selecting another random winner from those who:
  1. comment on posts along the hop and
  2. are a follower of Creative Accents' blog
You do not have to comment on every post along the way, but this will increase your chances of winning a surprise ABC gift worth at least $15!

Now that we have the challenge details out of the way... let's see what everyone has for you! Here's who you'll be hopping to visit today! (Just stop back here if you get lost along the way...)

1. Tara you are here!
2. Cheri
3. Chris
4. Carla
5. Sarah
6. Eulanda

Here's my ABC creation. It's a simple card, inspired by some of my favourite things: autumn, friends & books...
I used a fabulous stack of book stamps by Stamping Bella, Nesting dies by Spellbinders & QuicKutz, the friendship background stamp by Hero Arts, papers by Cosmo Cricket & American Crafts, a chipboard flourish by Making Memories & pearls by Prima. Of course, there's Distress Ink & Copic Markers on there, too :)

Here's how it fits the challenge:
A- alphabet (quote on the stack of books & background stamp)
B- bling (glitter on the flourish, pearls & though you can't see in this photo, spica markers on the image)
C- chipboard (flourish by Making Memories)

Hope you like it and are inspired to take the challenge! Thanks for visiting, now hop on over to the fabulously talented CHERI !

It's coming...

a new CHALLENGE and a BLOG HOP! Watch for it starting HERE today at noon!

September Stamp of the Month

I already gave you a peek at our September SOTM here, but today I get to reveal the cards we've created so far with this set! My month on the sample board was cut with the QK Rockstar alphabet, which we even have back in stock right now ;)
First up is a card Mom (Julie) made- she painted the new Glimmer Glam paint by Tattered Angels on some cardstock, stamped and embossed the leaves with Distress EP (in Broken China) and inked over that until she got the colour she wanted. After assembling her card, she added a piece of ribbon and a leaf shaped tag. The background paper (on this, and all the cards with DP) is from BoBunny's Olivia collection.

This next card features the row of pumpkins image. I stamped it with Sticky Embossing Powder and added pinches of Glitter Ritz in green, two shades of orange & brown, then burnished them together and dusted off the excess. It's so sparkly :) I inked just the 'thanks' from the 'Thanksgiving' word stamp for my sentiment. The background of my card (brown) has the flourish images stamped with Versamark ink. I added a leaf pin from Maya Road through my ribbon knot to finish off the card (you'll get a few of these with your SOTM as a little bonus!).
This card was a fun, inky mess to make! LOL. I used the Olivia papers to help me select shades of alcohol ink and dropped them randomly onto some white glossy cardstock until I was happy with the mix of colours. Once that was dry, I stamped my leaf & flourish images with copper StazOn metallic ink randomly over the paper. Once that was dry, I used one of my fave Tim Holtz dies to cut it out. My sentiment isn't part of the SOTM, but is also by Stampendous and is available in the store. I stamped it on another piece I used alcohol inks on. This card is finished off with some twine, a blingly brad (love these ones by Making Memories, and how perfectly they match my copper ink!) and a pearl flourish, inspired by the pearl in my brad.
This card features simple heat embossing- copper on green paper and green on copper paper. Once it was all assembled, I added the flower with another blingy brad and some more flourishes. My green embossed leaves have a really funky texture for some reason, maybe the powder reacted to the metallic paper? I don't really know, but it looks pretty cool still ;)

... and here's a bonus quick tag, just cuz there was room on our sample board ;) Not much explanation needed here- except that Mom used one of our new Nestabilities dies around the turkey :)
... and that's our September Stamp of the Month! I hope you like what we did with it and I hope you come up with some beautiful autumn projects using this set! We'd LOVE to see what you do with it!
